Caracas.- The Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela offered a high-level concert on March 14th in the Simón Bolívar Hall of Quebrada Honda, under the direction of Venezuelan maestro Joshua Dos Santos, in a presentation that combined interpretive excellence, pedagogy and a direct connection with the public.

With free admission and a full house, the concert began with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Symphony No. 41 "Jupiter," considered one of the pinnacles of the symphonic repertoire. From its opening bars, the work demonstrated the composer's characteristic balance between elegance and structural complexity, in which Mozart combines up to five different melodies that unfold simultaneously in a highly precise counterpoint, achieving a finale of extraordinary sonic richness that demanded maximum coordination and virtuosity from the Symphony Orchestra.

After an intermission, the second part of the program featured Richard Strauss's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra," an emblematic work renowned for both its sonic power and technical complexity. Known for the contrast between C major—associated with nature and the universe—and B major, representing the human spirit, this piece achieved worldwide fame after its inclusion in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

One of the highlights of the evening was the participation of maestro Pablo Castellanos on the organ during the interpretation of Strauss, contributing an imposing sonic dimension that enriched the audience's experience.

Beyond the musical performance, the concert was distinguished by its educational approach. Before each piece, Dos Santos offered the audience a brief explanation of the historical context, the moment of its creation, and key listening skills, creating a more engaging, understandable, and enriching experience.
