The event marked a defining moment for global football by incorporating, for the first time in FIFA World Cup final history, a halftime show inspired by the format of other major international sporting events. The production was produced by Global Citizen and Coldplay, who brought together prominent artists and musicians to bring this historic moment to life.

Under Dudamel’s baton, the ensemble performed "Seven Nation Army," one of the central pieces of the show, sharing the stage with renowned musical figures such as Shakira, Madonna, BTS, Justin Bieber, and Coldplay. The grand finale brought all participating artists together to perform "We Dance," placing the crowning touch on a historic celebration.

“This performance demonstrates once again the versatility of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra and the constant innovation born from the very nature of El Sistema,” stated Eduardo Méndez, Executive Director of El Sistema.

The 20 Venezuelan instrumentalists, members of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, represented the talent cultivated across various El Sistema Nucleos nationwide. Their presence at this event reflects the diversity and national reach of the program, featuring musicians from Caracas as well as states such as Yaracuy, Miranda, Guárico, Portuguesa, Falcón, Lara, and Zulia, among others—demonstrating how the musical education promoted by El Sistema continues to project young artists onto some of the world's most prestigious stages.

The national delegation was comprised of violin, viola, cello, French horn, and bassoon players, who shared music stands with musicians from the New York Philharmonic in a performance that symbolized the union of cultures through music. Furthermore, as a gesture of solidarity, every member of the orchestra wore a black ribbon in memory of the victims of the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026, paying tribute to those who lost their lives in this tragedy.

This new milestone reaffirms the impact of El Sistema as an internationally recognized model of musical education, capable of preparing children and youth to achieve artistic excellence and represent Venezuela on the world’s grandest stages. The participation of these musicians, alongside Gustavo Dudamel, serves as a testament to the global reach and projection of a program that has been transforming lives through music for five decades.
