The Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, under the baton of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, is proud to announce the release of its latest recording, Homage to Heifetz, featuring the acclaimed Spanish violinist María Dueñas. This landmark album was recorded under the legendary Deutsche Grammophon label, one of the world's most prestigious bastions of classical music.

The album is set for global release on August 28, 2026, and will be available in digital, CD, and vinyl formats. The curated repertoire celebrates the enduring legacy of Jascha Heifetz, the Lithuanian-American virtuoso who remains a definitive benchmark of 20th-century violin performance.

As a prelude to this project, the first single—Claude Debussy’s La Fille aux cheveux de lin (The Girl with the Flaxen Hair)—is now available on all digital platforms, offering a sublime glimpse into the artistic vision of this special production.

Repertoire

The recording features Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s Violin Concerto and Édouard Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole, both cornerstone masterpieces of the violin repertoire.

The program is further enriched by a selection of evocative miniatures, including additional works by Claude Debussy and Manuel M. Ponce. The production also features the distinguished collaboration of Israeli pianist Itamar Golan.

The Recording Process

Capturing the essence of the orchestra’s 2025 international tour, the album was recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London. This session brought together the Venezuelan musicians and Gustavo Dudamel in one of the most storied spaces in music history, ensuring a world-class sonic experience.
