El Sistema HOW TO HELP

Committed to Venezuela
Earthquake Relief Initiatives

In the wake of this profound tragedy, El Sistema, under the leadership of Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, has spearheaded various initiatives to direct aid to affected communities—providing direct assistance to its local centers, families, children, and teaching staff nationwide. Here is how you can support these efforts.

Here are the ways you can join these efforts.

Gustavo Dudamel + PNUD

Maestro Gustavo Dudamel signed a partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to channel international aid to the Venezuelan communities most affected by the June 24 earthquakes. The UNDP has been working in the country for over three decades and, since 2002, has maintained a partnership with El Sistema focused on social inclusion, youth development, and building a culture of peace through music.

The earthquakes caused an estimated USD 6.7 billion in direct damage, affecting some of the country’s most densely populated areas. To respond swiftly, the UNDP deployed its RAPIDA assessment tool—combining satellite imagery, seismic modeling, and demographic data to pinpoint the hardest-hit areas and guide relief efforts from day one. Every contribution helps restore families' livelihoods, rehabilitate essential services, and build the foundation for a more resilient recovery.

El Sistema + CAF

CAF (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean) established the Fund for the Recovery and Reconstruction of Venezuela—a mechanism designed to efficiently, transparently, and swiftly channel contributions from governments, corporations, international organizations, foundations, and individuals toward the country’s most pressing priorities following the June 24 earthquakes.

The Fund operates in three phases: immediate humanitarian aid, the restoration of essential services—such as healthcare, water, energy, and education—and, ultimately, livelihood recovery and early reconstruction. Resources are managed independently from CAF's own assets, featuring full traceability, regular financial reporting, and independent auditing—and, since CAF absorbs all administrative costs, 100% of every contribution goes directly toward Venezuela's recovery.

For three decades, CAF has been one of El Sistema's most vital and enduring partners. Join this effort to support these communities—include “Sistema” in your payment reference.
